Education and Support: State Capture: Research and Action designs and delivers multi-disciplinary training and on-the-job mentoring for lawyers, journalists, anti-corruption activists, and human rights defenders. These activities are woven into ongoing investigations and legal action and focus on investigative avenues and techniques, legal frameworks and accountability mechanisms, effective case management, and writing legal and policy briefs. In addition to training and mentoring, State Capture: Research and Action provides financial and logistical support to our mentees and investigative partners. The support enables partners to conduct investigations to feed the research and action strands of our work and to put in place physical and information security measures necessary for carrying out this work.
